house equity
my wife has moved out of our home and into rented property with her new female partner. I have just signed papers for divorce. I have been asked to sign a form to allow mortgage to change from joint to tenants in common to allow my wife to put her share of the property in trust for her new partners daughter. ( We do not have children of our own.) will this mean that they can then come into my home when they please and when the daughter becomes of age. There is very little equity in the property due to the recession and the huge mortgage. My wife is on half teachers pay due to illness and is unlikely to work again. Her partner has changed her amicable stance towards me and will not allow me to speak to my wife and they moved house without telling me where they know live. Please help as at wits end, solicitor semms unable to grasp my concerns.

I'm no expert but it would not seem equitable that your wife passes half the property to somebody who is no relationship to you, and who has made no contribution to the costs. Why don't you just say NO!
