Hi I have just had a new hob fitted in my kitchen (14 days ago) and a red light comes on to show one of the rings is on, which it is not, so I need to contact my fitter. I think he may say i should contact the hob manufacturere and although i know this is not right i am unsure of what to say to him if he does Any help will be appreciated Janet

It's therefore his responsibility to remedy any fault. (Since you've never legally 'accepted' the hob, because it's never worked properly, you're also still entitled to a full refund if you so choose):
