combi 3 years old, pressure set by engineers at 2-3, no problem, until at 7am boiler vibrating and making very loud noise, stopped vibrating, pressure up to nearly the red line.. stopped vibrating, no water from outside overflow, why would the pressure jump up on its own, could it be because of the weather ??? TIA
If you continue to run at that pressure (just underneath vent pressure) you will soon need a replacement expansion vessel. Around 80-100 quid. Let some pressure out of the vent valve by turning a little, or bleed rads to get down to maximum of 2 bar hot.
pressure has stayed up, my son had a look and phoned his friend who was a gas engineer, he said not to worry, keep heating on if i wish, an engineer calling tomorrow am, (covered by scottish gas insurance ) so no big bill.
albags. the heating is ok and no further noises from boiler im just worried if i keep the heating on the boiler will be damaged, but i am covered, why would the pressure go UP . im asssuming its nothing to do with the weather, know i sound dim, but anything technical worries me,
