I am looking for a recipe to make a simple veg soup similiar to one I have eaten in a tea shop, but they can't give me the recipe as it's started from a packet soup and added to.

It's a creamy almost pale green in colour - definitely has carrot in it, and I would guess potatoes to thicken it ..... not visible green veg and is not herby or spicy, just nicely seasoned ..... can anyone help .... I think it's just a basic traditional old fashioned vg soup but all the recipes on line seem fancy and fussy .... would love to be able to make it for myself.

TIA

Could they let you know what type of packet soup it is and we could then have a clue what to suggest. It's too early for me to start racking my brain cell but when I'm out food shopping later on I'll have a look for inspiration and get back to you.

Thanks Albaqwerty - look forward to hearing from you later ... WIll ask them what packet.
It's most likely a dry mix that comes in catering packs, enough to feed 25.Knorr do a number of those.

The base the tea shop use is McDougalls Thick Vegetable Soup (25 Portions) - does anyone know where I can buy this without huge postage expense?
I`ve just googled it and a website called dinkydrinks lists the ingredients so you could experiment and make it yourself (it`ll then be minus all the E numbers as well)
Here is a link to Google - input the name of your town in the search box and it may tell you of a shop in your area that sells it. Buying it would be cheap - but the postage would be pretty steep.
