Police Harrasment?!

Hi, Can anyone tell me if its fair if the police keep moving my friend and her friends on from parking in car parks together late at night? The cars are parked in a non used car park at night for a few hours and all they do is chat n' stuff! They're not causing trouble, not damaging public property or anything so why are they picked on all the time?

They've been shouted at, warned to stay out of their home town, told to "shut up" and also 1 of them was arrested for swearing tonight, yet when my friend asked where they were going so they could get him later, she was told to shut up, it was none of her business and as she walked off muttering For Funks Sake, she was told if she gave anymore lip she would be arrested under section 5. It seems to be a vendetta against them and unfortunately, I know the officer who threatened her cos he's a friend of mine and he doesnt like her. I cant be sure he's doing it out of spite cos he's very professional but its all unfair anyway! help anyone??

Just sounds like typical police to me. when i was 17-20 i used to get pulled over and spoken to like $hit by them just because they probably got bullied in school and the uniform goes to their head. sadly i don't think there is much your friends can do.

Tell your friends to go to each others houses rather than having social chats in the middle of the car park and that should pretty much solve the problem.

The police tend to view groups of youngsters meeting up late at night as potential trouble - because they often are.

If your friend is being targeted under this suspicion, then the simple ansswer is to meet socially elsehere - a restaurant or a pub, or as suggsted, someone;s house.

Swearing is a Section Five offence, and the police don;t apreciate it - and your friend got the the warning which is usually offered.

Your friend may be within her legal rights, but does she really need the grief? I'm sure the police don't.

Most of the young ones are just noisy and causing no trouble at all. I suppose there will be the same problem 40 years from now.
