Renting with an unspent conviction

hey guys! i was convicted of ABH earlier this year and i am looking to move out with a few of my girlfriends, we found a house we want and everything has been arranged for us to move in!

the way it will work is we are not actually classed as tennants, we are just people living there who share the bills. so technically he is not my landlord and i am not his tennant, we are all house mates who share with the bills.

i have a few questions/concerns;

- do i have to tell my "landlord" about my conviction legally?
- will it void his house insurance?
- if i dont tell him, and legally im not obliged can he take me to court if something happens?

Whats your conviction got to do with your landlord, he or she has no right to know!

yeah thats what i thought, but apparently if someone living in the household has a conviction it can void your house insurance!!! =[

i can't quite understand - wikll the "landlord" be living there as well?

He doesn't need to know anything. What he wants to know .. he can ask for.
House insurance 'might' be affected if you were a serial arsonist tho, and you disclosed to Insurance co.
Never heard of anyone living in a house that they didn't own . and they paid for .. that were'nt tenants.
Handy little arrangement. Hope you know the landlord pretty well (although it's not the other way round, obviously!)
