I'm appealing for a new job and need to have a CRB check performed. My previous employer accused me of Fraud By Abuse of Position. I was arrested, and had my flat searched, then I was on bail for a couple of months whilst it worked it's way through the system. After a several gruelling months, it was thrown out by the CPS, and it went no further. As it fell part and went no further is it likely to appear on my CRB?

auto correct... sorry, applying not appealing!
I far as I know only crimes you are convicted for appear in your criminal record. It would be odd otherwise.
Question Author
that's what I would like to think, thanks!
That's not true

No one on here can tell you for definite - I'll see if I can find Beunchico's information about this
From direct.gov

The CRB check will either confirm that you don’t have a criminal record, or it will list any relevant convictions, cautions, reprimands, warnings and, if applicable, whether you have been barred from working with vulnerable groups. The police can also include non-conviction information, for example, fixed penalties, that may be relevant.

" Following a test case in the courts, the law has now changed and all cautions now remain on file for life. That means that they will always show up on any CRB check"

One would take from that that your arrest is likely to show as well
Waht job are you applying for? If you need an enhanced CRB c heck it is much more likely to show than on a basic
Question Author
it's part of a freelance job, wiring a hospital ward for a tv show
The OP never said they had a caution, they said the case was thrown out.

A caution is given to people that have admitted they are guilty.
but a caution follows an admission of guilt, doesn't it? An arrest doesn't imply anything at all.
An arrest alone will not show up on a basic standard CRB check, it *might* show up on an enhanced CRB check as the enhanced check shows "any information which, in the opinion of a chief officer, might be relevant for the purpose and ought to be included in the certificate"
An arrest, process, trial and aquittal will not show, nor should it.

Caution is in effect a conviscion as is a fixed penalty.
"An arrest, process, trial and aquittal will not show, nor should it."

It might show on an enhanced CRB check.
Someone didnt read all of my reply, did they

OP, do you know what type of CRB check you need?
honestjezza FPN's are convictions?
Question Author
I don't know what type it will be I'm afraid, no
-- answer removed --
ansteyg, FPNs are NOT convictions , that is the entire idea of them. To give someone who has committed a minor offence a warning and allow them to carry on life without a conviction .
protooleriate, the CRB check you need will be a standard one not an enhanced check. Enchanced CRB checks are for people who are working with children and vulnerable people. Working to rewire a hospital DOES NOT count as needing an enhanced CRB check. It would count if you were actually having contact with the patients on a personal level.
An arrest will not appear on a standard CRB check , but it could (not certain just could) appear on an enhanced check.
OP, sorry for the slow reply but Edd has answered with what you need to know

Jezza, ansteyg, please check your facts before you post
