GBH section 20 case, a new witness has came forward and said he seen something 3 years ago! Is this acceptable and how will this hold up in court?
Witness claims he doesn't know the attacker but would recognize him if he seen him again. Says attacker was 6ft, I am the accused and I am 5ft 7

Hi Mike

Blimey this case is dragging on, is the assault charge racially aggravated ?.

I take it you have been served with the witness statement as prosecution disclosure?.

For your information, the comment "he doesn't know the attacker but would recognize him if he seen him again", is obviously important but it is a very basic mistake by the police to include that comment on an evidential witness statement particularly in a case where identification is disputed (the type of mistake a Chief Inspector would make).
"and how will this hold up in court?"

The witness is almost certain to face some tough questions at any trial by the defence etc.
"I take it you have been served with the witness statement as prosecution disclosure"

Sorry, the statement obviously has been served for you to have read it.
