Hi all

Does anyone remember last August in St Helier a Polish man killed six people. Most of these were members of his family.
I have just read a small piece in The Scotsman which says that he has been found guilty of six counts of manslaughter.

Seems he claimed diminished responsibility due to depression.

How difficult is it to substantiate a claim of diminished responsibility?

Sorry, my reply was a bit flippant.
I suppose what I really want to know is data on what % of these claims succeed in UK(accepting various legal systems exist).
"Seems he claimed diminished responsibility due to depression. "

Not according to this report: http://www.itv.com/ne...ersey-family-killing/

"Doctors for the defence argued that he had been hearing voices in his head and he was mentally unstable."
