Gbh With Intent Section 18
4 Answers
Hi recently a friend of mine was arrested for section 18 gbh with intent and violent disorder on a alleged stabbing that occurred on new years eve. The police seized the clothes he was wearing on the day and they have cctv images of him not attacking the person but just being around the scene. Also the victim did not turn up to the id parade, he has been bailed until next month. Is my friend looking at a nfa, or could he be going to court. In his interview he gave a statement saying he had nothing to do with the alleged offence and gave a no comment interview. 3 others were also arrested and bailed. Please answer my question?

If for example someone is murdered in a robbery - someone not involved in the actual murder but involved in the robbery - for example the lookout can be charged with murder under this.
I'm not suggesting your friend was a lookout but just because he didn't stab the person himself doesn't put him in the clear
Here's the guidance
