Fao Margo And Danny

The biscuits were a bit of a dog's breakfast but,my, did we have fun.I don't think Grandpa creamed the butter enough!Ally and I were mixing frantically the flour and butter mix and lumps of floured butter was flying everywhere. All over the table and carpet but even Granny didn't get on my case for aiding and abetting the mess. She was enjoying the fun and taking photos of the whole procedure. Ally's highlight was seeing Grandpa's glasses slip off his nose and fall into the floury mix. She retrieved them and tried to put them on herself. Another trip to bathroom to wash hands and face.Ally insisted on bashing these "so called" teaspoon portions into the size of cow pats. After baking we tasted them and Grandpa bit into a pine nut that had been a little over toasted and tasted quite sharp but the rest were great, if not a little rich. The finished product was quite crumbly though. When we told Ally we were taking her home later so she could present her biscuits to Mummy and Daddy she looked me in the face and sweetly said, "Not today Bampah more cooking" so a great day was had by all and Mummy and Daddy enjoyed the crumbly cow pats as well! I promised to update you.

Just got a mental image of you both covered in flour and Ally with you mucky glasses on. Sounds like you had great fun - who did the clearing up? Reminds me of when I used to bake biscuits with the kids at my son's 'little' school. I'd never done it before so it was the blind leading the blind. Thanks for the update. X
Danny - you need to find Retro something really mucky for his next baking day, something involving chocolate perhaps!
