Look, an assistant in Boots refused to sell me migraleve as I'm over 50 and look it. That's something that could harm me, but cost society. Ditto with a kid and a set of sharp knives...it's not just about you but about the wider implications. Arsenic could be bought over the counter without a record being taken in the 19th century, hence many people got bumped off with rat poison.
I am distinctly traditionally built and look my age (over 60) have never had any problem buying migralieve anywhere including Boots. Online the only limitation is that it shouldn't be given to under 12's and under 16's can't buy it...can't find any correlation with stroke risk with ordinary Migralieve.
Migralieve Ultra which is a different drug (sumitriptan) does carry a risk of further stroke in people who have already had one, or tia and is not to be used by people over 65 (I wonder how the tablets know your age though) but standard migralieve is paracetamol, codeine and Buclizine Hydrochloride and carries no such risk. I reckon the assistant was wrong....
