My daughter is on 'weed' and it's getting worse , she takes more and more and has terrible mood swings and is always asking for cash . I have found the address of the 'dealer' she gets it from. What is the best way to report this dealer? I used 'crimestoppers' a year or two ago to report a previous dealer she used. Is that still the best way, or do you know a better way? I don't think much happened as a result of my first report.

You know, deep down, that getting rid of one dealer will just force her to go elsewhere.

Has she shown any sign of wanting to give up? I don't know much about illegal drugs but do know that she will want to get 'clean'.

Good luck to both of you.

Or call your local Police Station.
Weed is still safer than tobacco or alcohol!

Even more years back I went to the police to report a guy who was selling dope outside local schools to the kids. They basically told me ''thanks, but we need to catch him 'red handed' to stand a chance of getting him''
Yeah, I was just going to say what Ratter did, and it's not all that expensive. Are you sure she's not on anything harder?

I know it's £20 a 'deal' but she is going through 3 'deals' a week and she only has the benefit money for her and her 3 kids It's 'skunk' not the old fashioned weed we all tried in the 70s.
Ah, right Eddie. So sorry :(

Ratter, assuming she mixes it with tobacco to smoke it, it can't be safer than tobacco.
Eddie, does she know you know she smokes it, and does she want to stop? As others have said, just getting rid of one dealer isn't going to help.
Stop giving her money, Eddie. I've had experience of this with my nephew, only his drug of choice was heroin.
I always used to suggest that people should write to the Chief Superintendent of their local station.
That way the letter got a correspondence number and someone would be assigned to deal with it.
It still may not result in a 'raid' but at least it wouldn't be ignored.
If the dealer is only dealing in weed, you might be better off leaving him alone. A new dealer could try and get her on something much stronger.
caution here Eddie, this could back fire and you getting hurt, a call to the police away from your house & inform them if they do not act you will contact the local paper then see them move.

I have decided to report it to Crimestoppers by using the computer at my local library.
Fedex a letter of complaint into your local big chief....he or she has to sign to take the letter, or their secretary, so you know that you are close in and you have proof of delivery to start raising the ante if he/she doesn't.
With respect, Eddie, perhaps you should be thinking about what you can do for your daughter and grandchildren.

She will just find another dealer, otherwise. She needs help.
‘Weed is still safer than tobacco or alcohol!’

Medical evidence?

Tobacco and alcohol are legal, cannabis certainly ain’t

As Wolf said, your daughter will just find another dealer so reporting him will probably just cause her an inconvenience. To alleviate the problem she has to actually want to stop smoking it

Nice she can afford to spend 60 quid a week on drugs while on benefits, that cash would be better spent on her kids
I think EDDIE knows that Joe
It's a horrible position to be in for Eddie. His daughter is going to carry on using, no matter what. He probably feels responsible for his grand kids, as his daughter will buy drugs rather than food. If the kids are neglected and school picks up on it, then social services could get involved.
joeluke - If alcohol was invented tomorrow would it be legal? I think not! My son died due to alcoholism, cannabis would not have killed him. I don't know what the answer is - addiction is a dreadful thing no matter what it is. Going back to EDDIE51 - I think you can ring the police anominously to report a crime.
Like others have said she'll just find another dealer.

How old are the children?
