Went to visit my son and took my daughter too. Was very emotional and hard to stay cheerful. He told me a few things that had happened this week that shocked me rigid. Not sure if I’m allowed to mention them but not nice at all.
It took him two weeks to be given a toothbrush, and he is hungry as the food rations are so small. How grown men are fed such small portions I do not know.
On the plus side every prison officer and member of staff we encountered were really lovely and helpful....... but was incredibly hard walking away and leaving him there : ( : (

He is in till 26th January, unless they let him out early with a tag(which sounds very complicated) and that would be end of November....... he loooked very stressed.

Not really. The tag fits around the ankle and allows the police to know where he is at any time of night or day. So long as he doesn't go anywhere he shouldn't at a time he shouldn't, there's little more to it than that.

Are you allowed to send him stuff like toiletries and extra food? Sorry if it sounds a daft question but if you were able to help him cope then you might feel a bit better?

Prison is such a Butlins aint it?
As regards food portions, once had a whole wing of us trying to work out what exactly was in our dinner? Didnt know if it was vegetable, animal or mineral.
(but apparently cons are better fed than pensioners according to other ABers)

We’ve put money on his account so he can purchase biscuits etc once a week and little bits. The tag problem is that he can only go to his dads, mine, or his sisters. She doesn’t have a spare room, he won’t come here as it’s not anywhere near where he needs to be for work etc and his little girl, and I don’t think his dad will actually have him. He’ll have to pick one of them tho.

The get a child size box of cereal in the eve ready for breakfast but they are so hungry they eat it before bedtime. So they then have no breakfast. Lunchtime they get 4 slices of bread and an unidentifiable filling. And tea is 4.30 pm and a hot(ish) meal of some sort but a small portion. Then locked away at 5pm till the next day.
