Well one of the judges seems to think highly of him.
/// 'He forms relationships easily,' the judge said. ///
/// 'He is charismatic. There is intelligence suggesting that he has had some influence on the conversion to Islam of some individuals.' ///
/// The judge added: 'There is a large group of people who look up to Adebolajo.' ///
Ah! that's nice isn't it? So pleased that he is getting along.
/// Mr Justice Langstaff said Adebolajo had not been given legal aid to pay for lawyers to represent him. ///
/// He said Adebolajo might have to represent himself at any trial and suggested that it would be in the interests of justice if public funding could be given. ///
/// 'If and when this case comes to trial it will be a great pity to justice, and in particular the presentation of the claimant's case, if some means were not found to ensure he had professional help,' said the judge.
'If that could be done by public funds all the better.' ///

I know that the Daily Mail likes to confuse its' readers , but still.....
Some things are simply statements of facts and there is no acclaim/approval attached to them. In fact, the article explains just how dangerous this man is and how he has spread his malign influence......it is not applauding him for doing so.
He is an odious individual and, as much as it sticks in my throat to say so, he may well be entitled to recompense for having lost his teeth.
If he is entitled to bring a case, he should be allowed to do so.......that is one of the basic tenets of British Law.

A High Court hearing has been told how one of Lee Rigby's extremist killers is a 'charismatic' inmate who has helped convert other prisoners to Islam.
Mr Justice Langstaff said Adebolajo 'forms relationships easily' and has 'a large group of people' looking after him in prison.
Well that bodes well for the future.

It looks as if you don't have to do much 'practising' to carry out your usual sarcastic anti AOG, anti Daily Mail jibes.
Why do you find the need to do so? Please answer the question as you did in your last two paragraphs, without the need to first have a personal snipe at me.

Being a prisoner doesn't mean that you have no rights. One cannot do what you wish to prisoners, no matter how repulsive their crimes. So without being there at the time I cannot know if compensation is appropriate. The force used must be justified. The info given by the judge is of no consequence; I'm unsure why it was given.

/// If they find in his favour - yes he should be granted compensation - then it should be given direct to his victim's
child. ///
Nice though regarding Lee's child, but once granted compensation, surely the money would be the 'Monster's' own, to do with it as he wished, and I don't think anyone would believe that he would be kind enough to give it to the child.

No, he shouldn't, but currently there's no law preventing criminals, however vile their crime, from bringing cases like this. And i doubt there ever will be.
Whether there should be, is a completely different debate as this would virtually give Prison Officers leeway to treat prisoners as they wish without fear of reprisal.
Some may think this is a good thing.

If it transpires that the officers involved physically attacked Adebolajo, ands used excessive force, then unfortunately*, I think that compensation should be paid.
However, the case will need to examine exactly what happened. Prison officers are trained to deal with unruly or dangerous inmates, and they need to act in such a way to prevent any injury to themselves or the inmate in question.
*unfortunately - an explanation. Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale are two of the most disgusting people to have walked our streets. It's a great pity that their respective mother's didn't abort them because they are the kind of lowlife that gives lowlife a bad name.
However, we need our prison service to act with the utmost integrity. I don't have any sympathy for Adebolajo, but at the same time if the Prison Officer are guilty of assault, they need to be brought to book.
My ideal solution would be this - that prisoners can sue, but if they win, all they get is an official apology, with any payout going to a victims' charity.
