When your police colleagues have lost the plot, apparently the only thing to is shut the door.

I don't know what that man has done but every police officer and PCSO knows how to restrain the most violent person and it's not like that.

This is West Midlands Police. Last week one of their long standing, highly regarded officers was sent to prison for the sexual grooming of a teenage girl and making indecent images.

I am pro-police and still believe the majority are good, honourable people but these incidents are going to have a shocking effect on community relations.

What do you think the police should be doing to redress this?

Be more selective in recruiting and ensure that supervising officers are doing their job.
I remember commenting on some brutality which was similar. It was two men on one woman in the street. Someone said "Reasonable force" and they implied if they have to act like that.. then there must be a reason for their force, which makes it reasonable. I think it is barbaric personally. Disgraceful and unprofessional.
It was awful viewing. I worked in a psychiatric hospital and staff are well trained in restraint. Obviously it can't always go to plan because you have to act quickly but that wasn't restraint, it was police brutality, pure and simple, no defence!
There are bad apples in every barrel. And the cop doing all the punching needs to be relieved of his duties a.s.a.p. As you say, there are ways - much easier ways - to restrain even the most violent of our society. Taking his legs from under him would have proved more efficient.
People were suspended over this video

Their bodycams are being reviewed. What would they have done if there were no CCTV or bodycams? How did so many 'rotten apples' happen to be working together?

I hope they all go to prison.
Has the policeman doing the punching got some sort of weapon in his hand?
Yes Ummm, a can of spray. You can see it being sprayed at the beginning and the female police officer ducking out of the projectile line
Disgusting!
In fact, i think he catches the face of the female police officer but it is hard to see properly. If he does then what a fool.
She seems to be helping the situation but then when spray is in line of her she puts her hand up and turns her face away, and leaves the situation as if she's been prayed.
I can't watch the video - wrong browser apparently - so I can't comment on the alleged 'police brutality' - but I don't see what the first link has to do with the second. He may have worked for the same police force but his crime was his alone and doesn't reflect upon his colleagues.
To be fair, hc, apart from the cop who thinks he's Mike Tyson, the others do appear to be trying to restrain the guy. The cop to his right leans on him to force him to the floor. One of them has obviously used pepper spray, one is away from the action completely and another closes the door, thereby preventing the action from being filmed further. To my way of thinking, the only cop there who has gone above and beyond is the one doing the punching. Of course, we don't know what each of them has put in their reports and, if the others have tried to exonerate him in any way, they should suffer the same fate as whatever awaits him.
"thereby preventing the action from being filmed further."
It's not illegal to film. They can ask you to stop filming but legally can't force you to stop.
No, but they can (and do) shut the door.
Yes that is perfectly fine
The cop to his right appears to have been hit with the pepper spray. Either that or he's just closing his eyes trying to avoid it.

I have linked the two incidents together because both have been in the news within days and both reflect badly on the police as a whole in the eyes of many people within the community.

In both incidents the officers met both victims in the course of their duty.

Maybe because the guy is using the pepper spray as a weapon to hit a man, whilst simultaneously spraying it here, there and everywhere in the room. It seems he's managed to catch two police officers with this wild spray whilst it's being used as a melee weapon.
Whilst the man is being hit, look near the light! You can see, every hit.. there is spray, spray, spray
