Can anyone tell me if there are any statistics or demographics on paedophiles? I'm trying to find out what jobs they do and have checked various websites but can't find any demographics.

If this is serious research, contact respected organisations like the NSPCC and see if they have any published reports you can have access to.
They may be able to give you other organisations to contact as well.

I for one will not google 'paedophilia' or any related term.

Don;t know if this will help but I watched the Tonight with Trevor McDonald this week, and according to the couple who began the whole stings scheme in America (trapping internet predators) the only common denominator between all of the guys they caught was that they were male and had access to a computer.

Obviously there are female paedophiles, and those who do not have access to computers but it seems that there is no real linkage i.e. age, job, childhood, family life, etc
