A cask of Amontillado

I have just completed reading the story A cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe. I am somewhat confused by this story. Did Montresor mean to kill Fortunato? I can't tell if he feels triumphant over killing Fortunato, or does he feel guilty? what was Fortunato's offence? It would be great if someone could help me understand this story, I'm just a bit confused.

Yes he meant to kill him. He had decided that Fortunato had offended him at the carnival and that he would take his revenge.
The reason he offended him is never actually told.
He is so happy at what he has done that he even stops what he is doing to listen to Fortuno scream and panic.
He is also happy to say at the end that he was never caught.

OK I wasnt sure how accurate I was there, so went and had a quick read of it lol
Montresor decided to kill Fortuna at the carnival, he was already feeling offended about something
The 'offence' that Fortunato had apparently caused wasnt revealed
