Hi, need your help. my partner is in court on friday(23rd) for driving disqualified, he is currently on a 3 year ban, i think this could be the second time as well. i know it doesn't look good, but im just getting a few ideas of what he may get so as to prepare the kids, its a nightmare. His Solicitor doesn't know if she's coming or going which doesn't help. Do you think they may adjourn for pre sentence reports?
he had just done a boot sale(he sells on them) made some money for us as we need it wiv 5 kids, someone grassed him up, the traffic police were dotted all the way back 2 our house, as soon as he pulled out they nicked him. they had the reg and his name written on his hand. no excuse i know but its a bitch!!
You may already know, but if not you should be aware that when a driver is disqualified a "Disqualified Driver Circulation" notice is sent to local police stations.
Officers keep a specific look out for disqualified drivers. The most important reason is that such drivers automatically are uninsured (and so pose a risk to the public). However many police officers take the view that driving whilst disqualified is a deliberate act which, effectively, pokes two fingers up at the law.
If your partner is allowed to keep his freedom (or when he is released if he does not) he will have to adjust his lifestyle so that he can earn some money without driving.
thankyou for your advice, i do appreciate it, i have read a few of your suggestions and i think you always give fair unbiased advice, unlike some of the others on here. You are completely right, and i shall have to give him a stern talking to (it obviously didn't work before)
The case will be adjourned for pre-sentence reports. What if your partner run one of your kids over while being banned. He ought to think of this when driving next time. I do understand you circumstances as i have been in the same position myself with my son but he should think of others on the road and how he would feel if he hurt somebody. My car ws smashed up by a disqualified driver.
