gbh 18 yrs ago,also does anyone know, do the courts take into consideration if you have good job for a long time,also a small child 3 years old ,married, a morgage can they take gbh 18 years ago nothing else since into consideration,section 20 maybe charged with dont know till next week

if you have been convicted of a criminal offence,it stays on your record for life,although it would be spent by now.
its on your file for life.. after 15 years they dont pull it up but its always there. a section 20 is a serious conviction but depends where it happened.. magistrates wouldn't sentence you.

Have you been arrested but not yet charged for Sect 20 ?.

Your past record for violence will be brought up if you do proceed to court.

You can bring into mitigation all the factors - Wife - Kid - Job...But a court will nether the less, sentance accordingly.

I don't know the evidence, so cannot comment, but if you had good cause to hurt someone then you might get a better result.

bravo1 thxs,not been charged with anything yet go back to police station next week to find out,basically been accussed of hitting someone with glass, i read his and 3 other statments from him and his best friends,what he is saying is complete lies he said he was breaking up an arguement and i hit him, truth is i was rowing with his mate i turned around and this guy came running at me and started punching me i swung arms around to try and block his punches dont know if i caught him with my bottle,we had a scuffle for 10 secs maybe,then walked back to my girlfriend then he came at me again,ive got someone to make a statement saying this guy attacked me first,could this be self defence
