Don't cancel !..

Out of interest, you could find out the possible visa restrictions of Antigua.

I know the USA has tightened up entry, and people have to declare criminal records etc.

I think your better off just carrying on with your holiday.

You do not need a visa to enter Antigua: http://www.antigua-barbuda.com/travel_tourism/ information/passport_visa.asp

And yes, you can travel abroad with a Suspended Sentence.

Thankyou for your replys .... hopefully we will get through the airport or thats an expensive trip to the airport lol cheers
No there are certain countries where visa restrictions will stop you entering with a suspended sentence.

Remember this is a new conviction is not yet spent under the rehabilitation of offenders act.

If your convicted of Drugs,Firearms,Terrorism,Kidnapping, Child Offences, plus a whole host of other serious crimes you could be barred entry.

Good-Luck

My boyfriend is being done for GBH he jus had a fite n broke the boys jaw
BRAVO

Can I suggest you go and read the travel section/
To gain entry to the US you fill out the visa form on the plane - tick the no box and you'll get in
The US has no access to UK criminal records - I would think Antigua doesn't either
Are you asking if he is allowed out of the UK (if he hasn't had to surrender his passport, then I'd say he is) or if he can enter Antigua?
Dear Pink-Kittens.

The USA does have instant access to criminal records in the UK.

You could be a convicted terrorist trying to enter the USA on a holiday visa, your telling me that ticking a box that says "no" is going to allow you access to the states ?

If you fill out your form on the plane and say that you have no convictions, you face deportation as soon as you land if the US customs check the UK PNC computer.

If in doub't contact the USA embassy in London for futher advice...
you land if the US customs check the UK PNC computer.

US customs do not have access - certainly not the guys who check your luggage

US immigration might - but it will be from a back office and only after you have otherwise aroused their suspicion.
And it won't be instant - they are going to have to apply, formally, for access, through official channels. It will take hours if not days.

Anyway, we are talking about Antigua, not the USA
Like Antiga will even have a computer lol

NO I am sorry to say that is not correct : Since 9/11 the US goverment has been sent details nearly everyday on people convicted in the UK, or people being watched and followed.
MI6 and some departments in MI5 share info with the FBI, NSA and Homeland Security.
Your passport is flaged as soon as your name is placed on a flight passenger list.
With internet access to the UK PNC the USA can check on-line within seconds if not minutes.

Remember your passport contains details about your age,DOB and place of birth.

This is a tangent from the original question I know.

Again, I suggest you check out the travel section

Or -reread dzug's reply
US goverment has been sent details nearly everyday on people convicted in the UK

convicted of WHAT, Bravo1 ? If you say 'everything' I won't believe you.
Well a whole multitude of serious crimes, and before you say whats serious, here is a short list.

Firearms Offences.
Drugs Offences - Importation & Supply.
Child Explotation Offences
Rape and Sexual Offences
Serious Fraud
Terrorism or suspected terrorism
Robbery - Cash in transit, Bank or Building Society.

Remember the NSA National Security Agency in the USA has the biggest computer in the world.
You can enter 2 digits from a licence plate and get every car registered in the USA with the same two digits within minutes.
The USA and UK share info every second of everyday.
If the PNC in the UK can check your convictions, then the computer at the NSA can also check the data they hold.

Don't kid yourself, as soon as you get a criminal record your on a computer for life, and as soon as your DNA is taken thats held for life as well.

Whats up Dzug ?.

Stuck for a smart arse answer ?

I should know what I am talking about I work in Whithall for the Goverment.
What's working in Withal for local government got to do with US laws??

Laughable
hmmm

6/6 08:16 The USA does have instant access to criminal records in the UK.

21:47 Since 9/11 the US goverment has been sent details nearly everyday on people convicted in the UK, or people being watched and followed.

According to the FCO, you need a visa to enter the USA if: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-living -overseas/travel-advice-by-country/north-centr al-america/united-states?ta=entryRequirements& pg=4

You intend to stay longer than 90 days
You intend to travel to the US for a reason other than business, pleasure or transit
You have been arrested (even if not convicted)
You have a criminal record
You have a serious, communicable disease (including HIV)
You have been refused entry to the US on a previous occasion
You have been deported from the US
You have overstayed during a previous visit
If you are unsure, or if you think that your situation falls into any of the above categories, you should consult the US Embassy (see above) you must do this well in advance of any plans to travel.

Do they also think that they have details of people who have been arrested and not convicted?
The USA does NOT have access to the UK PNC. Only those wanted or being watched by INTERPOL are flegged up.
I have entered the USA 3 times in the past 12 months. I have a conviction you claim is on the short list. No trouble getting in.
As the USA is making it compulsory for travellers to give US immigration ALL personal details from Jan 09 (19 pieces of Info) before you even leave your own land and are not guilty of any crime.
We should make all US citizens coming to the UK have a Visa.
How can a convicted US Child Sex offender be allowed to leave the USA and ply his trade in the UK? The USA say that they cannot stop him leaving. So how can they make claims to stop People entering the USA?
Take your chance and go. Tell them nothing at customs.
You must remember that the USA is a Country frightened of the rest of the World.
