Hi people, my boyfriend was arrested in march for criminal damage to property valued under 5000, section 39 as he was kicking my car and i pushed him and he got me in my side with his foot, they have photo evidence but no one saw it. Also danger to road users, as he pulled my handbrake up on the road whilst i was driving but it didnt work anways but they are still prosecuting him. he appeared in court last month but was ajourned now he is due to appear in magistrates on tuesday, i was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what will happn to him? He was very drunk at the time and goes wild when he has a drop of alcohol, but he has never hurt me in the past although in my statement i lied and said he did because i was ****** off about my car.

If your statement consists of lies (and you appear to have admitted this fact) then you need to think very carefully about all what you have said. Your statement and any subsequent testimony you give to the court will naturally be rendered worthless, so do please think very carefully and be honest about it. Go to the police and tell them that your statement contains lies, because in all possibility you may end up on a charge of wasting police time or even perverting the course of justice, the latter of which carries a prison sentence.

Thanks for answering, I have already been to the police station to change it and i've said that i have lied but they are still prosecuting him. Would it be best if i say in court that i have lied or will they make it worse?
Be honest on Oath in Court. Simply tell the truth. There is no alternative.
