I am travelling to philly next month for a family wedding. Problem is, i need a tourist visa which i now don't have time to get, as i have a conviction for assault (not serious) when i was 16 which resulted in a 200 fine. (i'm now 23). I also got done for driving uninsured in nov '07. Is there any way i would get through immigration if i ticked "no" to criminal convictions on the greencard that you fill in on the plane?
You don't need to apply for a VISA beforehand. You will be given the forms on the plane, you answer all the questions saying you have no convictions and you will be OK.
Thanks buddy, It was the u.s embassy that told me in no uncertain terms that if you have an arrest/conviction that there is no chance of me getting into the country without a tourist visa.
I was ready to not bother going as i didn't want to travel all that way just to get sent back!
