Hi there - My pertner was sentanced to 2 years custody followed by 2 years extended licence - During the past 4 months he has had his town visits and ROTL with no restrictions ie. was allowed out at 10.30am from the hostel and didn't have to be back until 11pm. Now on release he has to live at the hostel and can leave at 10.30am BUT has to sign in at 1.00pm and has to be back by 8pm. When questioned his PO ststed he was High Risk and had to be monitored... If that is the case why was he allowed ROTL with no restrictions when quite rightly he was still a prisoner but now he has served his custodial they want to put restrictions on him. When i stated this to his PO he laughed at me saying that maybe he should have made the restrictions... Is there anyway we can get his PO to A) Justify the conditions or B) remove them as he has been out with no restrictions and has had no nickings or negative reports? Thanks

Maybe they asked for the conditions on the ROTLs but the prison didn't put them on.

I don't think Probation need to justify anything to the offender if there is a reason why they can't (could be sensitive information regarding victims, for example). Also, the Victims Unit may have contacted the victims of the offence (depends on the type of the offence and time in custody) and they may have requested conditions for the release.
