Car being siezed by police?
I was driving my car yesterday evening, and came off a roundabout and accelerated at full load(upto the 30mph limit as I was bedding in some piston-rings) I then pulled into a car park to talk to someone I saw in the pub. The police have just been round saying the car made off from them at speed, thing is, the distance between where they were apparently parked, and where i parked is aroun 1/10th of a mile, and round a slight bend, so the time it took for them to start up, check its clear, pull out and accelerate up and over 30mph to catch up with me, is more than enough for me to pull in and get out with out realising they wanted to talk to me.
I've got to go in and give a statment, they are trying to convict me of careless driving. what can I do?

Secondly, the police would only try to sieze your vehicle if you had no insurance or some other seriouis offence, they would do it there and then.
If I was you, I would take evidence into the station to prove the engine had just been fitted with new parts and state that you would not jepardise the engine by driving the way you are being accused of.
I am confused as to your original post because you say that thery tried to sieze it at the time, by this I assume you mean at the car park, and yet you say they have just been round saying you drove off at high speed, surely you were not that good a driver to have lost them within the space of a mile.
