What should I send my soldier friend in Afghan??
27 Answers
I am just getting a parcel ready to send to my friend who is currently on a tour in Afghan he has been out there a week already and I have promised to write to him on a regular basis.
But what should I send him? We have been very good friends for 10 years and I know i cant send him booze or porn but what does a soldier need? I just cant imagine how he is feeling right now and I want to send him useful things as he has nothing over there.
Any suggestions greatly recieved we need to keep supporting our boys and girls out there.

I have checked what i cant send and thats booze porn bulk religious material and items with pork in. But its so hard to think of what I would want out in the desert? So far then I have baby wipes some musli bars tooth brush and paste pens paper sachets of hot chocolate as you dont need to add anyhting to them except hot water and chewing gum!

Dustinmyeye I am sure there must be a way to do it, I am just doing this for my friend as we have been close for years but he is sending me details of some of the guys and girls who dont recieve parcels and letters for whatever reasons and I have got a group of people ready to support them out there. No ties they just send regular letters and bits and pieces to show their support and so they feel like they are making a little diference. I fel strongly about this as I grew up in a services family and my Dad used to go on tours for months at a time and its hard for them out there and they must be so gratful for anything they recieve. The stories a soldier can tell you is heartbreaking so any help no matter how big or small goes along way x
