First apperence in crown court on Monday.
I'm due in the Crown Court on Monday charged with 2*ABH and 1*GBH Sec 20. I'm pleading guilty to 2 charges and not guilty to 1 of them. Will i be sentanced on the day? Also could anybody shed some light on what i am to expect. thanks alot.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you're pleading not guilty to one of the charges your court appearance will just be an initial 'p&d' (plea and directions) hearing in respect of that charge, when a date will be set for trial.
The court could sentence you in respect of the other charges but it's likely that sentencing will be deferred until after the trial. (That would be particularly likely if all of the charges relate to a single event).
You might be bailed until your next court appearance but, if the judge is of the opinion that a custodial sentence is likely (in respect of the charges to which you've pleaded guilty) you'll probably be sent to prison 'on judge's remand', pending later sentencing.
As stated, you might be bailed but it would be wise to pack a bag. (Radio, MP3 player, headphones, batteries, writing paper, pens, stamps, books, magazines, photos of friends & family, etc). Don't let go of the bag in court unless you're told that you have to. If so, give it to a court official or a custody officer. (If you give it to a friend, family member, solicitor or barrister they won't be able to get it to you in the cells and you'll go to prison without it).
