Fraud against employer - likely sentence....
I've been commiting a fraud against my employers for the last 5 years. The sum of money involved is about 300,000. This is my first offence of this nature. I'll be pleading guilty as the evidence is stacked up against on paper in black & white. Any ideas of my likely sentence

personal experience (and no, it wasn't me!)
someone stole over 500k from their (private sector) employer. no previous convictions. pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.. 6 years, reduced to 4 for his early guilty plea. home, villa, cars subject to a confiscation order. made bankcrupt whilst in prison.
where's them money? have you paid any back?

The Sentencing Guidelines (check them on the Sentencing Guidelines Council website) say that for a theft of over 125k the starting point is 3 years if you plead not guilty, with a range of 2-6 years. Pleading guilty right away will get you a reduction of around 1/3 of your final sentence.
As an example, say you would have gotten four years, plead guilty you will get approx 33 months and serve 16 or so then be out on licence. You might get more or less depending on your circumstances, life history, convictions and whether the judge is in a bad mood.
