Do they carry out cavity searches when you enter UK prisons?

I heard they have no powers to do them at all - but I saw a documentary where I'm sure they did carry one out upon entry to prison.

Hi Wizard66.
Good observation any clearly lots of first hand experience to boot. The prisons are indeed an induction training camp for the non drug taker. If clean and not to 4oeked up in the first instance they are surely to become highly dependent by the time they leave with all other variables being taken in to account. Yet the prison officers and their seniors appear to find it to be an easier life to manage a prison system of high dosile people rather than actually doing their job. Lazy 3 hour a day shift state money grabbing bullies who actually believe they are worthy to lick the toes of traffic wardens. ha
