Definitely? No.
Some people try to avoid payment and seem to get away with doing so indefinitely, but anyone with a suspended sentence is unlikely to want to risk annoying the courts, so you probably stand a reasonable chance of receiving the money.

Can you get compensation from CICA? Probably. See here:

Someone was ordered to pay me £250 about 4 years ago. He got a 2 year suspended sentence and I haven't received a penny.

Two broken bones in your jaw?!!?!?!!! How was that?
I wasn't told how to pursue it. Sad thing is I seen him in court on 2 occasions during his suspended sentence period

He's moved to Dubai now....

Jaw broken in 2 places maybe?
my partner was awarded damages in court.

after 6 months we received a cheque for £12 and got same for next 4 months. weve had nothing for 2 months.
You are still entitled to claim criminal injuries for your injury, anfd if I was you I would pop down to the citizens advice bureau, or your local police station and they will explain who you will need to contact to get the forms to fill in.

With regard to your compensation, it is not definite that you will receive any monies. If your assailant was in employment with a minor offence history, you are more likely to get something but if not probably very little or nothing. There is not a willingness by the powers that be to chase individuals for compensation payments.
