My cars been stolen, what happens next??
Soo upset. Came down this morning to find we had been burgled during the night. Bstards went through my handbag, stole my keys, and took my car.
Rang the insurers who took the details and crime number, and regitered it with the theft team. However the theft team dont work on weekends, and all i've been told is i cant have a courtesty car, and some one will ring me within 48 working hours- i.e not till tuesday probably, so have no idea what will happen.
The car is on lease purchase- i have payments to make till March 2011, before deciding whther to hand it back or keep it.
Can anyone tell me what happens next? What will the insurers do? I am totally stuffed without a car, cant get to work, and without a driving license or credit/debit cards (all stolen) i cant hire one myself anyway... Will it get replaced with one the same age? Will they give me money to replace it? Help??!!

Good and bad news.
The good news being that the police hve found and recovered my car, 30 miles away, and that there appear only to be superficial damage.
Bad news being the insurers still wont do anything until the car can be released from the pound after forensics are finished and the police release it.
But at least the car is alive!

Glad that they have found your car, when mine was stolen I never got it back, it was found burnt out and the insurance company gave me only eight thousand for a car that cost me sixteen thousand pounds only two and a half years earlier, so you are lucky even if you have to wait a few days to get it back. The insurance should pay to have the repairs done , hope you do not have a high excess. Good luck anyway.
