Shoplifting FPN on CRB check
Last year i was caught shoplifting, ( stupid i know ) . The matter was dealt with via an FPN £80, and i thought that would be the end of it. I have recently learned however that my current employer is to implement basic CRB checks for all staff, & i'm obviously now concerned that this will come back to haunt me. We have been offered an amnesty period in which to "come clean", but owing to the nature of my work, I feel that confessing to shoplifting would be something of an "own goal".
Are there any legal eagles out there who can tell me if this FPN will reflect on a CRB check? Many thanks.

If the police was involved and you were only fpn and cautioned, yes it will show up on your police check. If on your police check application form it asks for any prosecutions/pending prosecutions/CAUTIONS then i would advise you to say yes. If it only asks for prosecutions/pending prosecutions then i would say no because you aren't telling any lies!
If the police were not involved then you have nothing to worry about.
