In the UK, is it legal to carry a baton type weapon that emits a laser that paralyses and blinds and can you get a license for it? If you can or cannot, what Act does it come under? Thanks

no, I feel pretty sure it would be classed as an offensive weapon.

what is it, and where can I get one?
Why do you need it Coco, boy(girl)friend trouble?
It comes under the 'Stop being a tw@t Act 2007' which came into effect on January 1st 2010.

Is this your try-out question......?

Nah I don't have trouble, i just wondered is all - my friend asked me and I had no idea.
Jesus, you sound slighly mental.
I have to ask, why would you?
"The definition of an offensive weapon is any article made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person, or intended by the person having it with him for such use by him, or by some other person. (N.B. this definition includes a disguised knife).

It is an offence to have in your possession an offensive weapon in a public place."

Ok, yer reading it again it does sound slightly mental lol. I'm not meaning to be i just wondered what it would fall under is all cos there isn't a class for stun guns under the firearms act - i'm not gonna get one lol.
I'm sure you can buy laser pointers for pointing to things on a whiteboard - I think they only blind, not paralyse! There was a debate here last year about a laser being used to blind a helicopter pilot.
Its classed as a firearm-five years inside.
