visiting a prisoner

I have tried phoning the prison to ask about what kind of things I am allowed to take in for my partner, things like money for the phone and clothes. There has been no answer from any of the numbers I have rung. I know he has to send me a pin number which I need to book a vist, he said hes sent it but i haven't recieved it, althought it has only been 3 days. How often can I visit and how many ppl can go on any one visit. Hes in Birmingham prison

hi,i hope by now you have had an answer to your question. Each prison is different,so p.o. are sent addressed to H.M.P.S unless private and it's to the governor or director or in some cases cash can be handed in on a visit to be put into the prisoners account. they usually have canteen once a week to buy 'phone top-ups,toiletries or extras. Usually 3 adults and unlimited children as per seating,room etc. visits vary in that it could be twice a month or enhanced prisoners get more,I do agree that this law/penal system is failing and has done for many years.
