Charge been changed!

Hi all
been informed today that my ex charges against me have been changed from common assault to assualt and battery!
Does anyone know what time means exactly and what difference it makes to sentencing?

confused: you do realise that if this goes as far as crown court you won't be able to retrack the 'charges', regardless of your family or not he will be sentenced.

I just thought I would mention it since she can't really have him back if he's in prison - just a thought, that's all.

I understand your point sunsetter like i keep saying its hard at the moment ive got loads of people telling me to hate him,get everything i can from him, take injunctions out, make sure ive got residency order for kids so he cant keep them etc but on the other hand i still love him and he is the kids dad. I hate what he has done to put us in this position - maybe when i see him and listen to him in court i will hate him and continue to hate him - its just so hard my head is saying keep away but my heart is saying dont let go!

confused, he could be looking at a custodial sentence which means you won't be able to give him 'another chance'.

Ive already been told that i cant withdraw statement - it wouldnt make any difference even if i did coz CPS would still continue with case and could issue me with summonds to give evidence if at crown court etc
Yes obviously if he went to prison the situation would be different - think i need to just get on with life for the moment and see what happens in court and take it from there.

Thanks for stressing me out even more sunsetter - i have to admit im nervous about going to court - im sure defence will play on the fact i have mental health problems - i know in ex statement he has pleaded not guilty and said ive done it all to myself coz im nuts! Great hey!

As far as my feelings that this is not totally true I guess if you are lieing you may as well get on with your life anyway as at a guess he would never again want anything to do with you if you get him locked up for something he never did.

In court Wednesday for his plea which is expected to be not guilty which means probably crown court i think in couple months time.
