Hi my now ex-partner is up on charges for ABH on my 8 years old daughter and Common Assault with beating on myself also Common Assault on a bystander who tried to help me. He got very drunk one night and came home and punched my daughter so many times on the side of face she was bruised and swollen badly he also bite the top of her eye. unfortunately i was forced by him and his family to say nothing and they would sort him out also my daughter loved him that much she begged me to say nothing and as much as i didnt want to i did as they wanted then 2wks to the day later i out with few friends when my partner was outside asking to see me so i went outside and he came up to me and punched me straight in the face i was in shock at first then a by-stander got between me and him and my ex-partner punched him to then me again with that the police intervened and took him away with that i went to police station and made full statment about myself and wot he did to my daughter cut it short he has been on bail now for 3 months until thursday last week he was charged with ABH on a minor and 2 counts of common assault with beating and is due in court 2weeks time, if anyone can help by telling me what sort of punishment he will get i would appreciate it i am so worried he will walk away without any justice being done xx

Hi i just wanted to thankyou wyzard for your comment and the link regarding schedule one offences i did read it and thats why i wanted to update, today i went to a conference meeting with all professional bodies involved in case and general well keeping of my kids ie social services, school and health visitors etc it has been decided to put my children on a protection plan on the basis not knowing wot the outcome of court will be in 2wks. i was pretty upset at first but after listening to all their comments they all spoke very highly of me being a good mum to my kids which was good also the police have said when it goes to court if he does walk away with caution or something similar they have put a request in for a restraining order on him which apparently it is a relatively new law so even if he gets away with it on lack of evidence this restraining order could still be put into place to protect myself and especially my kids so lets hope the judge agrees xx i also wanted to comment on bobjus reply i to hope he gets wot he deserves weather it be in or out or jail xx

Thankyou wyzard i have heard similar storys but to be honest i honestly dont think he will go down it keeps being commented on bout its his1st offence be it a bad 1 etc etc. I know got to find a solicitor to help me cause he has parental responsibility he can walk into the babies nursery and take them and nursery are unable to stop him at the moment innocent till proven guilty crap he cant touch my 8yr old daughter cause he not his and his bail conditions restrict that and school etc are all involved so aware of him. so if you or anyone reading this can help with a quick way of stopping him from taking my babies please help me. if he does take them the police and social services have said they will then confront him with the word responsible parent but thats as long as he doest just take off god knows where which as it stands looks like he wont but who knows wot he thinks anymore cause i certainly dont know him like i thought i did xx

You can get a parenting order that stipulates who is and isn't allowed parental responsibility for the short term until a court case is decided.
Also contact your childrens school, explain the whole situation and ask them to contact you the moment he sets foot in the school.
If all your kids go to the same school they may have procedures in place to ban him from the premises, so ask about that. Also contact your liason officer from the police and ask what other help and protection you are entitled to.
Speak to Victim Support as well.
Basically, if you ask everyone you can think of, somebody will know a way to stop him being able to take them.
If all else fails is there anywhere away from where you live that you can take the kids until after the trial?

I just wish I could do more. A part of me (the part that is the father of an 8 year old girl) wants to go round there and show this absolute waste of oxygen what would happen if he tried this with someone with the ability to look after themselves!
As I've said snuggle, I don't know much about the legal system, but if there is any practical help I can offer then please let me know
