I have been areested for sect 18 gbh with intent what will happen if it goes to court?

what happened in the incident is i was assaulted first by being punched in the eye receiving a cut to my eyebrow it then ended up in a mass brawl and i received a further cut to my head requiring seven stitches and numerous bruises to my body. however he had been glassed during the incident and him and his freinds claim it to be me even though i can honestly say it wasnt. can anybody please give me advice i would really appreciate it.

no cctv but witness are his freinds at the moment description were made matched me but some did not.if i did go to court and got found guilty would what happened to me be taken in to account? i have heard he has a small hole in his cheek and a tooth knocked out as a result of the glassing

i got punched by the person who got glassed because of an argument between me and his freind which wasnt really serious. i dont know anyone accept my freind who was also arrested for the same offence.my role i think was defending myself i was bleeding alot and was really confused of my surroundings and what had been going on but was throwing punches to try and fend people away from me. my freind said i didnt have a glass on me either the witness also say it was a slim glass full of coke i was drinking cider all night in pint glasses.

What advice were you given by the solicitor following your arrest? You are entitled to free legal advice at a Police Station during interview and you must have been offered it by the Custody Sergeant.

thanks for the replys everyone i didnt have a solicitor at the interveiw which i now know is stupid but thought has i have done nothing wrong i would only have to give my side of the story and they would take my word for it how naive of me! i have a solicitor now and they said they cant do anything until a week befor i have to go back to the police.
would it be worth trying to press charges against them for the injurys i have sustained or not

thanks eddie you are being really helpful im not sure numbers say around 10 people. only me and my freind were charged the thing that is worrying me the most is that no witness have come forward that i know of confiring my side of the story but he has around three that are his freinds sticking up for him the only thing that i can think of that is going for me is that both me and my freinds story of events was very similiar even though we were ar
rested straight away will that be good for us or not?
