Will these people receive Custodial Sentence or Suspended Sentence

Hi, a family member is involved in a case that involves 15 football supporters who had arranged to meet another set of football supporters, no violence occurred as police were at the scene. The case is mentioned in the first couple of minutes of this local news video

apologies for my ignorance but why, as per the newspaper report, is conspiracy to commit violent disorder worse than actually committing it, and was there violence or not? You say none occurred, the paper says it did. If there was none, why plead guilty to it?

there was no violence involved, a smoke bomb was set off and thats about it. They pleaded guilty as this gave them the lesser charge of violent conduct i dont know how conspiracy is worse i guess it could be down to planning before hand etc. I have also found out the brief of one defendant has said he should receive suspended sentence and not custodial, i really hope hes right, thanks for the feedback

There is one reason that custodial sentences are unlikely, and that is that the prisons are bursting at the seams at the moment.

get a good solicitor, There so much going on to do with football violence at the moment its best to safe guard them selves...good luck really mean that
