Call for Plastic glasses.....
Understandable with cases like this:

Is there any reason why they can't make drinks glasses out of that stuff they make car windscreens out of, ie they shatter into very small pieces? Is it merely a cost issue? I hate those naffing plastic glasses and as usual the majority have to suffer for the few nutters.

Many many years ago in my misspent youth – I used to drink Newcastle Brown (out of the bottle, as you do).
In the run up to a Christmas (in my regular), I was supplied with a pint glass (along with the bottle). It was explained to me that the purpose of this was to reduce the possibility of patrons ‘bottling’ one another (even though I was a regular – it was that type of pub).
I pointed out to the landlady, who had supplied me with the glass – that as a result of this policy, I now had a bottle and a glass to attack some with – rather than just a bottle.
