They take you to court as many times as they like.

And a CCJ means potential Attachment of Earnings Order, a Warrant of Execution to seize goods to the value, a charging order on your house or an order to freeze monies in accounts.
And it also affects your future credit rating.

hc4361 I use to know a lad in Liverpool who had not paid for water for a few years and he only has one ccj on his property. He did not get taken to court each year, If and when he sells the property then he will have to give them some money.
This person also pays back a bank loan at £10 or £5 (can't remember) a month. If he lives to get to 85 he will never pay all the money back to the bank.

Water rates arrears
Many water companies send out bills twice a year, in April and October. You can pay your bill all at once or in instalments - perhaps weekly, fortnightly or monthly. If you get behind with your payments the water company can't disconnect your supply, but they can take action to get their money and, if necessary, take you to court.
