Ich würde schwimmen gegangen = I would have gone swimming.

Many Thanks :)

I suspect that you need to complete the sentence...ie I would have gone swimming if it wasn't very cold.... It doesn't stand very well without the proviso..

The full sentence was like:
I would have gone swimming, although there was jellyfish and....
I just didn't want to post it all because I didn't see the point.
Thank you for your suggestion though.
And I think it translates to I would go swimming....

gegangen is a past participle though.
Ich wäre schwimmen gegangen. I would have gone swimming.
You might like to try Google translate....
I would have gone swimming, but it is too cold translates to Ich würde Schwimmen gegangen, aber es ist zu kalt.

I tried Google Translate and that gave a very unclear answer. :-(
Ich würde schwimmen gehen. I would go swimming....

Your sentence mixes the two. ^
"You might like to try Google translate...."

That's about the worst way possible to see if a sentence make sense in a foreign language. all any online translation does is a straight word for word translation, they do not take into account that most languages use a totally different sentence structure to English, often for different situations.
I don't think there is an one word equivalent for 'gegangen' in English.
Wouldn't it be:

Ich würde schwimmen gegangen haben
Instead say... i am not going swimming because.... Ich bin nicht schwimmen gahen aber....(or something like that lol)
