basically, outside a night club, all people involved were drunk... a guy was having a go at two of my friends calling them gay, and supposedly threatening them... we all told him just to leave and walk away, he went to walk away, turned back and threw his cigarette in my face, my friend immediately went over to him n got in his face, as I realised the cigarette hadn't caught me in the eye or something, i saw my friend n the other guy face to face and went over and punched the guy once, was held immediately by others around, and then my friend who had been face to face with the guy jumped in n punched the guy once before he was grabbed by bouncers. it turns out the guy now has a broken jaw and needed an operation on it, it is unclear which punch may have caused the injury, the police are now involved and I really don't know what's going to happen? me and my friend are both first time offenders. do you think it will result in jail time? thanks

Hi a couple of mates at a pub were drunk and play fighting, until it got out of hand and turned nasty, which one of my friends ended up with a broken jaw through the other person hitting him, what will the offender get if the other friend presses charges?
