tenancy agreement
hi i was wondering if anybody had any answer too this question that i have...... my nan has lived in her property (private rented) for 60yrs. when she first signed the tenency she signed it for 99yrs, then a year and a half ago the company sold the property too another company. the new landlord wouldnt give her a new tenency, now he has decided too put her property up for auction! does her original tenency still stand? and what are her rights too this matter?

There were quite a few protected tenancies prior to 1957 (think that's the right date) and they are pretty much impossible for a landlord to cancel while the original tenant is still living there. Without seeing the wording I can't help further (and I'm not a solicitor anyway so wouldn't want to give duff advice!)
I would suggest that she talks to Shelter - they are good at this stuff.
If she is in England, her tenancy will be what is known as a regulated tenancy - and all of these only apply prior to 1989.
