I think part of neighbours house (an extension done years before we of they bought the properties) is on our land (marginally). How do u find out if this is a fact? I don't want to actively "do" anything about it but I would like to know.

when you say "marginally" how marginally are you talking about? if it's cm's there probably no way of actually telling
Leave well alone. It will make no different and a solicitor will cost you if you hire one. If the extension has been there over ten years then there is nothing you can do (I know you don't want to do anything!). It will be on their land now and that is what is important! Well it is inches only. I really Wang yo know ego will survey / prove this. I may seem petty but these neighbours are THE NEIGHBOURS from HELL!! And although I've hog nonjntentiin in ever making them remove the extension or do anything aboug it it will be nice to have as part of my "ammo" when they are being d*** heads. It soundschildish but I've reached the stage of grasping at straws with them :(

Excuse typos .... iPhone small screen and big fngers lol
Thing is eve - if as you say the extension was build before either of you bought the house, it's hardly their fault, bad neighbours or not.
All you will be doing is spending a lot of money for no reason. Just calm down!! You can't use it as amunition because a couple of inches makes no difference as far as land registry is concerned and it happened before you both moved in.
