I have been happily separated from Mr Sunflower for almost 4 years..never got divorced. Still good friends but I am feeling the time has come....what costs am I looking at here?
It will be straighforward, no grounds except we amicably parted. And I want to keep his surname too, can I?

I had a divorcee friend who said that you get more money (insurance etc) as a widow than if you get divorced. Her marriage was a nasty one. She said that she wished she had thought of that at the time!

Good luck with your D-I-V-O-R-C-E
yes, you can. if you're both agreeable and up for doing the paperwork yourselves, I'd advise you to follow the instructions here.. http://www.direct.gov...ingadivorce/index.htm

I did mine and it cost around £400.
The first Mr Craft was so desperate to escape he agreed to pay my costs....

Ha ha craft no such luck...if he did I would agree to him paying but...don't like to ask to be honest!
I saw some online sites quoting £17 but I can't believe those ads...thanks sara I will have a look but don't want to part with that much money.
Groupon have a 3 day trip to a luxury spa in Marrakesh for less than that...I fancy going with my man...stuff the divorce!
the costs are just basic admin and court costs. I don't think you can do it any cheaper, but best of luck :o)
d.i.y it is so much cheaper and as no solicitors are involved its not messy and if youre "friends" youll probably stay that way!

how do you diy??
it's all on the link I posted ↑
Just to add I have kept my married surname even though I divorced nearly 20 years ago. I do use Ms now (which I hate really) and seriously wish I'd gone back to my maiden name at the time.
Prudie, so did I - even though I have since remarried. My first-married name is the one which I have always used for work, current OH doesn't mind at all.
