I have just bought a jvc video recorder and since connecting it up to my tv / dvd  /ntl set top box I lose the digital picture whenever I turn off the video.   I must have made a wrong connection but can't see where.   i have connected up as follows.

TV - AV1 LEAD TO SCART SWITCH BOX

TV - AV2 LEAD TO VIDEO'S SOCKET LR1

DVD - SCART LEAD TO SWITCH BOX.   BOX ALSO HAS A  SCART LEAD TO AMPLIFIER.

SET TOP BOX - SCART LEAD FROM VIDEO CONNECTION TO VIDEO'S SOCKET LR2

Any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Try pluggin them in this way

Signal (aerial) into NTL Box
NTL Box to Video
Video to TV AV1
DVD to TV AV2

If you have spare spaces you could route another from your DVD to Video aswell..

nmr - Many thanks for your suggestion which I shall certainly try.   The only problem is what do I do with the  lead  from the amplifier, which has a scart connection on one end, and  which provides sound to the speakers?   If I go video to TV AV1, as you suggest, it means removing the scart switch box from this socket leaving me nowhere else to plug it in.

Also did not understand your reference to spare space.
