Something has got me wondering. If a man and woman marry and during their marriage the man has gender reassignment surgery to become a woman, does the marriage remain legally binding? As two people of the same sex can not be 'married' does their relationship change to a 'civil partnership'?
But they wouldn't be of the same sex, so no 'problem'. There would be one appearing to be the sex they are, and the other mimicking the sex they wish to be.
Legally ? Well you may have a point but there is an awful load of nonsense deemed to be official that just ends up complicating a situation. I was considering the issue from a reality point of view, which it seems, if the marriage is still legally a marriage, the law does too. I guess one part of the law need not be consistent with another part of the law.
