I was cleared of GBH 6 months ago. I have paid thousands of pounds to my solicitor who told me after the case ended that I would get all the money back but it may take up to 3 months. 6 months later, I still haven't received a penney. The solicitor says that I will be paid when he is paid. Is there anyone I can contact to speed the process up? Is it possible the solicitor has been paid and is keeping the moment for the time beiing. Any information is appreciated.

if it's just costs you spent defending yourself, then you were found innocent, you don't get them back as far as i'm aware
Yes bednobs is correct.

Generally legal fees incurred as a result of defending yourself against a charge of which you are acquitted are not refundable. Only in exceptional circumstances (such as abuse of process or vexatious prosecution) would they be awarded.
also, i was surprised when you say "dsolicitor says i will be paid when he is paid" - haven't you paid him then? What do you expect to be refunded?
