My daughter accepted an offer on her house beginning of last May and it took till August before completion.
There’s too many variables to give you an accurate average.
A cash buyer purchasing a property with no forward chain can be done in a month, a chain on both sides with one or more waiting on mortgage decisions can be a year+!?

we've just had an offer accepted on a property but they want us to give them a timescale on when we think we might complete - its a cottage with land and we are paying cash and there is no chain involved either side. I thought 12 weeks was reasonable considering the land is agricultural and the searches will be bit more intensive, but the sellers are saying thats way too long....
There was no chain involved in the sale of my daughter's house either, she went to another property, and it was a first time buyer.
I'd say 12 weeks too, in my experience.
