Remember Emma West, the woman (allegedly) hurling racist abuse on the tube whilst holding her child on her knee?
I just found out she's pleaded "Not Guilty" to two counts of racially aggravated public order offences.
It goes to trial on 11th June. How much will this trial cost us, the British taxpayer.

Still..... it's innocent until proven guilty

I understand she is to stand trial at the Crown Court, which means she must be accused of an offence under Section 4 or 4A of the Public Order Act.

The usual quoted cost for a Crown Court trial is approximately £10,000 per day.

I am not in any way defending this woman but she shows all the signs of some sort of intoxication to me and I spent half a lifetime dealing with people in a state like this.

That may well be, shoota. But in most circumstances intoxication (whether due to drink or drugs) is viewed as an aggravating feature rather than one of mitigation.

I just feel sorry for her little boy. Whether her behaviour is down to something that she did take or forgot to take is just an excuse - I wouldn't have thought that it would have changed her personality 'that' much.

I know that it is wrong to making assumptions based on a short video clip but she shouldn't be let loose with a kiddie.
